Graduate studies at the Faculty of Science |
The organizational framework of educational activities follows
the classification of natural sciences with regard to
interdisciplinary approach and is closely connected to research in
individual fields of science: biology, chemistry, Earth sciences,
mathematics, and physics. Information about the doctoral study programs and branches
can be found here.
All doctoral study programs at the Faculty of Science are accredited
both in the Czech and English languages; prospective students thus
apply for the programs either in the English or Czech languages.
The Ph.D. program usually consists of four years of coursework
and supervised dissertation research. In addition, the faculty
encourages its students to conduct part of their dissertation
research at partner institutions in other countries or to
participate in collaborative research projects.
Eligibility
Students are expected to have a good background in the field as
well as sufficient language
skills to understand fully the study materials. Applicants are
required to hold a corresponding degree from a university. The
faculty encourages applications from all students and does not
discriminate on the basis of national origin, race, gender or
religion.
