Institute of Experimental Biology was established in 2001 and consists of seven Divisions: Division of Genetics and Molecular Biology, Division of Microbiology, Division of Plant Physiology and Anatomy, Division of Animal Physiology and Immunology, Divison of Functional Genomics and Proteomics, Loschmidt laboratories and Czech Collection of Microorganisms. At present there are 186 employees taking care of pedagogical, research, technical and administrative activities of the institute. Nearly 500 students in Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degree programs are currently studying at the institute. Research activities of the departments are focused on various aspects of molecular, cellular and organismal levels of modern biology. |
