Open juice.htm web page and select hyperlink JUICE.EXE file (only for installed actual version) and install an actual mutation of installed version (replace older EXE file in 'c:\Program files\JUICE 6.2' directory) This type of the program update is
recomended for users who have installed the same version of the program
(e. g. JUICE 6.2) and need to actualise the program by a new mutation (e.
g. JUICE 6.2.71). It is optimal to actualise the EXE file every 2-3
months. |
The program uses 'Courier new' True Type font for basic table display. It considers Braun-Blanquet old scale, Braun-Blanquet old and new scale and Ordinal scale. However, the program is possible to accept any other font with specialy defined scale (Londo, presence/absence, Zlatnik etc.). Some of these scales are included in True Type fonts (MF01.TTF, MF02.TTF, MF03.TTF, MF04.TTF) attached to the installation package. They should be installed manually. In case, you will favour these scales, please, run <True Type font manager> from Tools (directly in WINDOWS system), use function <Add new font>, select directory with these fonts (mentioned above) and add them into the system (without installation of these fonts correct table visualisation is not possible). If you need to use any other scale, don't despaire, the author of the program is possible to solve your special needs.
After installation you should download training data and test import function (menu FILE and IMPORT and TABLE FROM and TURBOVEG). Use NEWFLORA.TXT or KUBAT.TXT files as a check list only for training data. The file NEWFLORA.TXT is the Central European (i. e. Austrian, Czech, and Slovak) checklist from TURBOVEG. Program JUICE is also able to work with other check lists, so you can produce your own checklist from your version of TURBOVEG (this is necessary for JUICE users outside Austria, Czech Republic and Slovakia). Detailed information about import is given in the manual. The text file can be also created manually (e. g. as a text export from Access file) - please, study the file structure carefully (sort names according to shortcuts).
