Salicornietum prostratae Soó 1964

Salicornietum prostratae

This association includes open, species-poor stands of Salicornia prostrata, confined to strongly saline soils in the surroundings of mineral springs and saline lakes. In the past it occurred at a few sites of southern Moravia, but the last stands disappeared in the 1970s.

Diagnostic species: Aster tripolium subsp. pannonicus, Juncus gerardii, Plantago maritima, Puccinellia distans, Salicornia prostrata, Spergularia maritima, Suaeda prostrata

Constant species: Aster tripolium subsp. pannonicus, Puccinellia distans, Salicornia prostrata, Spergularia maritima

Dominant species: Salicornia prostrata

Formal definition: Salicornia prostrata cover > 25 %
