Arrhenatherion elatioris Luquet 1926

The alliance Arrhenatherion elatioris includes the most common types of mesic Central European meadows, occurring on gentle slopes or non-flooded river terraces. They are used for hay-making, usually mown twice a year, with occasional aftermath grazing in some places. This alliance is most common in Central Europe, but it also occurs in other regions of temperate Europe.

Syn.: Arrhenatherion elatioris Koch 1926 (§ 2b, nomen nudum)

Diagnostic species: Arrhenatherum elatius, Campanula patula, Dactylis glomerata, Galium mollugo agg. (predominantly G. album subsp. album), Knautia arvensis agg., Leontodon hispidus, Leucanthemum vulgare agg., Plantago lanceolata, Trisetum flavescens

Constant species: Achillea millefolium agg. (predominantly A. millefolium s. str. a A. pratensis), Alchemilla vulgaris s. l., Alopecurus pratensis, Anthoxanthum odoratum s. l. (A. odoratum s. str.), Arrhenatherum elatius, Campanula patula, Cerastium holosteoides subsp. triviale, Dactylis glomerata, Festuca pratensis, F. rubra agg., Galium mollugo agg. (predominantly G. album subsp. album), Holcus lanatus, Knautia arvensis agg., Lathyrus pratensis, Leontodon hispidus, Leucanthemum vulgare agg., Lotus corniculatus, Plantago lanceolata, Poa pratensis s. l., Ranunculus acris, Rumex acetosa, Taraxacum sect. Ruderalia, Trifolium pratense, T. repens, Trisetum flavescens, Veronica chamaedrys agg. (V. chamaedrys s. str.)
