Lolietum perennis Gams 1927

Lolietum perennis

These are species-poor grasslands dominated by the low-growing grass Lolium perenne or the rosette hemicryptophyte Plantago major. They are found in frequently trampled places on paths, around buildings, on play grounds and in recreational areas. This association is common throughout the Czech Republic from lowlands up to the montane belt, but is not documented by relevés from all areas.

Diagnostic species: Lolium perenne, Plantago major

Constant species: Lolium perenne, Plantago major, Poa annua, Polygonum aviculare agg. (predominantly P. arenastrum), Taraxacum sect. Ruderalia, Trifolium repens

Dominant species: Lolium perenne, Plantago major, Potentilla anserina, Trifolium repens

Formal definition: (Lolium perenne cover > 25 % OR Plantago major cover > 25 %) NOT Group Trifolium fragiferum NOT Poa annua cover > 25 % NOT Polygonum aviculare agg. cover > 25 % NOT Prunella vulgaris cover > 25 % NOT Juncus tenuis cover > 5 %
