Setario-EchinochloŽtum is developed in dry lowland areas on well drained sandy soils which may be irrigated in some places. Due to late germination of most of its constituent species it develops only in July and has its phenological optimum between August and September. It is found in maize, root-crop or vegetable fields, in vineyards and on stubble fields. It is common in lowland and colline areas of the Czech Republic.
