Multifunctional ZnO Nanoparticles for Biomedical Applications The main objectives of this PhD thesis are: 1) chemical synthesis of nanoparticulate ZnO colloids and their application in fundamental optical spectroscopic studies of interactions with selected miRNA based biomolecules and 2) elaboration of mesoporous nanostructured ZnO electrodes for spectro-electrochemical biosensing studies directed towards new highly sensitive localization of miRNA within various types of cancers cells.
