Among current research trends in electrochemistry is the preparation of functional layers, often nanostructured, which are capable to considerably enhance the sensitivity of target analyte or group of analytes detection, preferably in the presence of interfering species. The goal of the dissertation thesis is the preparation and characterization of electrocatalytical layers (metal nanostructures, complexes, polymers, nanocomposites etc.) on metal and non-metal conductive substrates and exploring their utilization in bioanalytical practice. The emphasis will be laid in direct methods of functional layers fabrication, e.g. different types of electrodeposition, electric discharge, polymerization carried out directly on the substrate surface.
