Název práce: Water treatment operations to remove natural toxins from surface water

Školitel: prof. RNDr. Luděk Bláha, Ph.D.

Oficiální zadání:
This PhD project (within the EU H2020 Marie Curie ITN project NaToxAq) will focus on removal of natural toxins from contaminated waters using diverse water treatment methods such as advanced oxidation processes (AOP) including nonthermal plasmas. The primary focus will be on removal of metabolites produced by cyanobacteria in water blooms - cyanotoxins - having diverse physico-chemical and toxicological properties (peptides, alkaloids and lipopolysaccharides). The project aims to develop and characterize novel degradation protocols including detailed characterization of transformation products and their potential (eco)toxicity. International collaboration is foreseen namely with Leibniz Institute for Plasma Science and Technology (LIPS), Germany. The successful candidate will have a Masters degree in (environmental) chemistry, biology, environmental engineering or other relevant field with knowledge and experience in analytical chemistry and/or environmental toxicology. Fluency in English (working language) is a requirement. For further information about the fellowship please contact the principle supervisor: Prof. Ludek Blaha (
