Characteristics

The field of study of Upper Secondary School Teacher Training in Mathematics is offered to students who intend to continue their Bachelor’s degree programme of Mathematics with a View to Education. The graduates obtain professional knowledge for upper secondary school teaching in mathematics. The aim of the study is to educate upper secondary school teachers in mathematics. This field provides the students with a complex education in mathematical analysis, algebra, geometry, discrete mathematics, probability theory, set theory and presents also necessary methodical, didactic and other general knowledge and abilities for obtaining the upper secondary school teaching certification in mathematics. The aim of optional courses is to receive a broad overview of many mathematical disciplines.

Graduate Profile

The graduates will obtain all necessary knowledge and skills to be able to teach secondary school mathematics on the proper level and with the necessary methodical and didactic methods. Their IT literacy is also on a very good level and they obtained basic teaching skills during their teacher training.

Entrance examinations

A written or oral examination on the level of Bachelor's degree examination of the corresponding Bachelor's field of study is required.
