Abundance

Abundance is understood as the expression of the quantitative representation of a particular species in a locality. If represented in several localities, the average value of abundance is given. The percentage representation of a species within a particular group expresses its dominance. Significant values of abundance are given only in case of fairly extensive investigations. The comparative abundance (dominance) is expressed on a five-degree scale as follows:

A1

very rare subrecedent less than 1%

A2

rare recedent 1.0-2.0%

A3

fairly numerous subdominant 2.1-5.0%

A4

numerous dominant 5.1-10.0%

A5

very numerous eudominant over 10%
