Maps of probabilities of meteor radiants

PDF map for bright meteors.

The map showing the sky from 3. to 9. August 1983 around radiants of South Delta Aquarids and Alpha Capricornids. On right and bottom edge of frame are shown Right Ascension and Declination. The black points are the stars. Gray, yellow and red areas are increased probability that a meteor has radiant at the place. Simply: figure of radiant. In the center of this frame is radiant of South Delta Aquarids. The probability distribution function (PDF) was constructed from 340 individualy PDF, for meteors with geocentric velocity 45 km/s and for meteor's brighter or equal to 7th magnitude.

PDF map for fainter meteors.

The map for meteors between 7.5 and 8.5 magnitude (398 meteors). The other parametres the same. Right bottom Alpha Capricornids, in center Aquarids. The great excess of radiants in the top of the frame is due the zenith effect (number of radiants is proportional to cos(z) ).
