Prunion fruticosae Txen 1952

This alliance includes continental drought-adapted vegetation of low-growing shrubs of the genera Prunus and Rosa, and in the eastern European forest-steppe zone also of Caragana and Spiraea. They are usually associated with patches of steppe vegetation, which is reflected in the frequent occurrence of various steppe grasses and broad-leaved herbs.

Syn.: Prunion spinosae de So 1951 ( 31, younger homonym; non Prunion spinosae So 1931)

Diagnostic species: Prunus fruticosa,Rosa spinosissima; Asparagus officinalis, Bromus inermis, Bupleurum falcatum, Centaurea scabiosa, Cytisus procumbens, Dictamnus albus, Elymus hispidus, Euphorbia virgata, Fragaria viridis, Geranium sanguineum, Melica transsilvanica, Peucedanum cervaria, Prunus tenella, Salvia nemorosa, S. pratensis, Stachys recta, Teucrium chamaedrys, Thalictrum minus, Vicia tenuifolia; Eurhynchiastrum pulchellum

Constant species: Prunus fruticosa; Elymus hispidus, Poa pratensis agg., Teucrium chamaedrys
