Thelypterido palustris-Phragmitetum australis

This marsh type is dominated by Phragmites australis, with participation of the wetland fern Thelypteris palustris. It is a rare vegetation type of mesotrophic fishponds, where is occurs as floating islets in 30–100 cm deep water. It has been recorded near Doksy in northern Bohemia and near Soběslav in southern Bohemia.

Orig. (van Donselaar et al. 1961): Thelypterideto-Phragmitetum Kuiper 1957 (Dryopteris thelypteris = Thelypteris palustris. Phragmites communis = P. australis)

Syn.: Thelypterido palustris-Phragmitetum.australis Kuiper 1957 (2b, nomen nudum)

Diagnostic species: Carex pseudocyperus, Cicuta virosa, Humulus lupulus. Lycopus europaeus. Phragmites australis. Scutellaria galericulata. Solanum dulcamara, Thelypteris palustris

Constant species: Carex pseudocyperus, Cicuta virosa, Galium palustre agg., Humulus lupulus. Lycopus europaeus. Lysimachia vulgaris, Phragmites australis, Scutellaria galericulata. Solanum dulcamara, Thelypteris palustris

Dominant species: Carex acuta, Phragmites australis, Thelypteris palustris

Formal definition: Phragmites australis cover > 25 % AND Thelypteris palustris cover > 25 % AND (Group Cicuta virosa OR Group Lysimachia vulgaris) NOT Group Carex elongata NOT Group Carex rostrata
