    L-Asparagine (anhydrous)*      1 g 
    Glycerol                      10 g 
    K2HPO4                         1 g 
    Trace element solution**       1 ml 
 
The pH of this solution is about 7.0 - 7.4. Do not
 adjust if it is within this range. 
 
    Agar                          20 g 
    Distilled water             1000 ml 
 
*Grind asparagine and dilute in a small volume of 
distilled water acidified with HCl. 
 
    **Trace element solution:
    FeSO4.7H2O                   0.1 g
    MnCl2.4H2O                   0.1 g
    ZnSO4.7H2O                   0.1 g
    Distilled water              100 ml
