Ethylene oxide and hot air sterilization control (6180,6181); spores inactivation by oxygen gas plasma (6178); sterilizing effects of airborne sond waves (6179); ethylene and formaldehyde sterilization (6287). Production of L-desoxynojirimycin and inhibitors for glycoside hydrolases. Variation in colonial morphology and pigmentation occur on nutrient agar, strain is orange on beef extract glucose agar and black on tyrosine agar. Selection of colonies for pigment enhancement is not advised (ATCC Bacteria and Bacteriophages, 19th ed. 1996).
