Medium 19: POTATO MALT AGAR WITH STRIPES OF FILTER PAPER

    Diced potatoes                240 g
    Distilled water              1000 ml

Boil until cooked soft. Decant the clear liquid 
and add water to 1 litre.

    Decanted liquid              1000 ml
    Malt extract                    5 g
    Agar                           15 g

Heat for 30 min. and then autoclave at 121 °C for 
20 min. Put stripes or squares of sterile white 
blotting paper on the surface of the sterilized 
media in Petri plates. In test tubes the stripes 
are added prior to autoclaving.
