Research Mobility Highlight: Klára Hánělová at Karolinska Institute
Our member, Klára Hánělová (Masaryk University), has recently returned from a three-month research internship at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. During her stay, she worked at the Division of Biomolecular and Cellular Medicine under the supervision of Dr. Oscar Wiklander, focusing on the project entitled “Engineered Fc-binding Extracellular Vesicles for Targeted Drug Delivery in HER2-Low Breast Cancer.”
The project addressed the rapidly developing field of extracellular vesicle-based targeted drug delivery systems. This strategy aims to enhance the specificity and efficiency of drug delivery in HER2-low breast cancer, a clinically challenging subtype for which effective targeted therapies remain limited. In addition to valuable scientific results and methodological expertise, Klára returns with a network of new connections and ambitious plans for future research.
The research stay was supported by the MOVE special fellowship, awarded within the framework of cooperation between European EV societies, MOVE which actively supports international mobility and knowledge exchange. We sincerely thank all institutions, funding bodies, and individuals involved for making this happen.
