Student Receives Award at an International Conference
Our student, Bc. Jiří Sekerák, recently participated in the international conference Cold in Biology and Medicine – 50th Annual International Conference of Young Scientists (Kyiv, 2026), where he successfully captured the attention of both the scientific committee and the audience with his oral presentation entitled The Effect of Repeated Freezing Episodes on Photosystem II Inhibition in Antarctic Lichen Species.
Jiří Sekerák was awarded third place in the oral presentation section, which featured 73 scientific presentations. The participants included young researchers and postgraduate students from academic and higher education institutions in Ukraine, the host country, as well as from more than 20 other countries worldwide. We warmly congratulate him on this achievement.
In such a highly competitive field, Jiří's success reflects not only the scientific quality of his research but also his ability to present his work in a clear, engaging, and accessible manner. We are delighted to congratulate him on this outstanding accomplishment and appreciate the excellent way in which Bc. Jiří Sekerák represented our department, institute, faculty, and the high standard of Master's thesis research carried out at the Department of Experimental Plant Biology, Institute of Experimental Biology.
