Laboratory of Mineral Nutrition and Water Management

The Laboratory of Mineral Nutrition and Plant Water Relations focuses on investigating plant responses to environmental conditions. In particular, we study how changes in plant structure and function can help plants survive increasing water scarcity or even cope with it over the long term. We also investigate the signals that enable plants to perceive the availability of water and nutrients in their environment and respond rapidly to changing conditions.

Our research employs a wide range of methods, from the analysis of individual cells and tissues, through chemical analyses of various plant organs, to measurements of physiological responses and growth rates of whole plants. Experiments are conducted under controlled conditions as well as in the field.
