Laboratory of Mineral Nutrition and Water Management

The research work in the laboratory is currently divided into two main directions. The first focuses on the relationship between xylem structure and function in plants, particularly with respect to the efficiency and reliability of water transport. The second direction investigates the signaling mechanisms that enable plants to respond to soil water deficit, in particular the long-distance signals transmitted from roots to leaves. It also investigates the relationships between the occurrence of long-distance signals and the availability of mineral nutrients in the soil.
