I. Successful Projects

Doc. Mgr. Petra Procházková Schrumpfová, Ph.D., project INTER-COST (LUC24056), INTER-EXCELLENCE II (MEYS), Regulation of gene transription during sexual reproduction in plants. (The project is part of the COST Action CA22157)

AZV published the evaluation of the Final Reports of the projects, where several researchers from SCI MUNI achieved an excellent rating:

  • THÉTA 2 - on 4.9.2024 the announcement of the project call THÉTA 2 is planned. Preliminary parameters of the call can be found HERE.

Support for projects in the Proof of Concept (PoC) phase

Preliminary information for the upcoming internal call for proposals by CTT MUNI (funded by the TA ČR Sigma-DC1 programme)

  • Focus of the call: Verification of applied research results in terms of their practical application and preparation of their subsequent commercial use or use for the needs of society.
  • Call announcement: 2 September 2024
  • Call closure: 7 October 2024
  • Duration of PoC projects: 6-36 months (recommended 6-24 months)
  • Start of implementation of PoC projects: January 2025
  • Amount of financial support: up to 3 million EUR. CZK 2 million (recommended CZK 0.5 million - CZK 1.5 million)
  • Maximum aid intensity of PoC projects: 80 % (20 % co-financing)
  • CTT Call Seminar: 11 September 2024
  • Presentation of project proposals at CTT MUNI: 22-23 October 2024

MIT-Czech Republic IOCB Tech Foundation Seed Fund – call for 2024

  • The program that was created in 2021 is a collaboration between MIT, the IOCB of the CAS, and its subsidiary IOCB Tech. It is now funded by the IOCB Tech Foundation, which contributes $100,000 per year to the program. The fund supports 3 to 5 new collaborations each year between scientists from CAS research institutes and universities in the Czech Republic and MIT partners, up to $25,000, with funding available to cover travel and accommodation costs associated with working meetings and research internships. Successful applicants will be decided by April of the following year and the first trips will be available in June 2025. The fund is open to all disciplines.   • MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships: The goal of MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships is to enhance the creative and innovative potential of researchers holding a PhD and who wish to acquire new skills through advanced training, international, inter-sectoral and interdisciplinary mobility.   • MSCA Doctoral Networks: aim to train creative, entrepreneurial, innovative and resilient doctoral candidates, able to face current and future challenges and to convert knowledge and ideas into products and services for economic and social benefit.   • ERC Starting (Horizon Europe): The ERC Starting Grants are designed to support excellent Principal Investigators at the career stage at which they are starting their own independent research team or programme. Principal Investigators must demonstrate the ground-breaking nature, ambition and feasibility of their research proposal. More information available HERE. Deadline: 15.10.2024.
  • ERC Advanced (Horizon Europe): Five years long funding of up to 2,5 mil. EUR to pursue a ground-breaking, ambitious project led by excellent scientists with track-record of significant research achievements in the last 10 years. More information available HERE. Deadline: 29.8.2024.
  • ERC Synergy (Horizon Europe): The aim is to provide support for a small group of two to four Principal Investigators to jointly address ambitious research problems that could not be addressed by the individual Principal Investigators and their teams working alone.   • Advanced Collaboration Grants (EMBO): funds the visits of 1 week to 6 months in the lab of collaborator in EMBO participating country to work on joint collaborative project with biological significance. More details are available HERE. Deadline: anytime.
  • COST - funds interdisciplinary research networks, brings together researchers, innovators and other professionals including industry specialists, who are based in Europe and beyond, to collaborate on research topics for a period of 4 years.
