I. New Successful Projects

Doc. RNDr. Zdeněk Máčka, Ph.D. from the Department of Geography succeeded in the programme AKTION Czech Republic & Austria which is aimed at cooperation in science and research and the promotion of academic exchange between universities in both countries. His project will examine “Regional seed mixtures as an effective tool for the conservation of grassland habitat diversity”.

II. Upcoming Calls

  • ZEMĚ (Ministry of Agriculture): open call for project proposals in industrial research or experimental development. Research needs are given by ministry. Deadline: 13.7.2022. (Faculty deadline: 30.6.2022) More information can be found here: ZEMĚ Programme.

 

  • EIG CONCERT JAPAN (MEYS): open call for project proposals on the theme: “Design of Materials with Atomic Precisions”. The aim is to support cooperation between european and japanese researchers and develop new designs of material with atomic precisions. Reaserchers can ask for subsidy to cover personnel costs, material costs or travel costs. Each project must have at least 3 partners (1 from Japan and 2 from different European countries).   • INTER-EXCELLENCE II, INTER-ACTION (MEYS), LUAUS23 (CZ-USA): open call for czech-american project proposals in all research categories. The Letter of Intent from your american partner is required. Deadline: 25.7.2022 (Please, note that the signature of the rector is required! It´s possible to get rector´s signature at least on Monday 18.7.2022).   • National call for co-finance LIFE projects (Ministry of the Environment): open call for co-financing the projects prepared to the LIFE Programme. Deadline: 2.8.2022 More information can be found here: LIFE Programme-national call

  • GAČR international collaborative LA grants – with German agency DFG – call open continuously, Austrian agency FWF – call open continuously, American NSF - call open continuously, and Swiss agency SNSF – deadline on 1.10.2022 for CZ . More information on calls available HERE.

 

  • INTERREG V-A SVK-CZ: Within the framework of the Interreg V-A Slovakia - Czech Republic programme, a call for applications for non-repayable financial contribution INTERREG V-A SK-CZ/2022/14 was announced on 31 May 2022. The call is announced under the specific objective 2.1 "Increasing the attractiveness of cultural and natural heritage for the inhabitants and visitors of the cross-border region" under priority axis 2 (Quality environment). The closing date for receipt of applications is 1st of August 2022. The recommended duration of the project activities is 12 months with a final completion date of 30th of November 2023. The total allocation of the call is EUR 3 million, with a minimum budget of EUR 200 thousand per project.

 

  • DIOSCURI: 5 years-long projects support establishing new research group by talented early career scientists in the Czech Republic with scientific and managerial mentorship from senior researcher in Germany. Deadline 25.7.2022. More information available HERE

 

  • Biodiversa has published preliminary information on its upcoming call for international research project proposals "Improved transnational monitoring of biodiversity and ecosystem change for science and society". The call is scheduled to open on 8 September 2022, with a deadline for pre-proposals in early November 2022. Participation of Czech entities in the projects is likely to be funded by the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TA CR) in cooperation with the Ministry of the Environment (MoE).   • The Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) has launched a call for international project proposals. Some of the topics of the call seem to be of potential interest, for example, to researchers in the field of biochemistry or biotechnology-related biology. The deadline is 22 September 2022. An online information day on this call (video) was held on 7 June 2022. More information available HERE.

 

  • Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowships 2022: research training connected with mobility within EU (European PF) or outside EU with compulsory return phase (Global PF). Proposals that score min. 70% are eligible to obtain funding from Czech structural funds, thus we expect to get huge majority of submitted proposals in the Czech Rep. funded! Deadline: 14.9.2022.   • ERC Starting: supports excellent early career scientists (2-7 years of experience in research) and their teams to pursue groundbreaking high-risk / high-gain research. You can apply for up to 1,5 mil. EUR for 5 years. Deadline 25.10.2022. More information available HERE.

 

  • Marie Sklodowska-Curie Doctoral Networks 2022: PhD training network based on joint research project conducted by collaborating investigators and their PhD students from min. 3 institutions from min. 3 EU Member or Associated States. Deadline: 15.11.2022 More information on the call available HERE.

 

  • Hop On Facility: enables a partner from a Widening country (ie Czech Republic) to join already successful consortium and get a financial support. You can join only collaborative projects from Pillar 2 and EIC Pathfinder Pillar 3 calls (listed on the link below), which do not have a partner from Widening country yet. Apply anytime until 10.11.2022. More information available HERE.

III. Other News

OP JAK - Operational Programme Jan Amos KomenskyOn 9 June 2022, the European Commission officially approved the OP JAK, from which up to CZK 90 billion will be paid to beneficiaries to support research, development and education in the Czech Republic during the programming period 2021-27. The first calls have already been announced (irrelevant), and this year a total of about 10 calls are to be opened, including the most interesting one for MUNI, the Top Research (07/2022 - 01/2023). MU scientists can use CROWDHELIX online platform for free to search and directly contact potential partners for collaborative projects of HORIZON EUROPE. You can also present your own profile and advertise your own demand for specific expertise for your project.
