I. Successful Projects

Mgr. Filip Hrbáček, Ph.D. (Department of Geography) has received funding for an ERC CZ project called: “Soil Moisture Effects on Active Layer and Permafrost Dynamics in the Antartic Peninsula”.

In the GAMU MASH StG/CoG 2025 call, the following researchers succeeded and were awarded funding of 12 000 000 CZK for their projects:

  • Tomáš Fiala, Ph.D. (Department of Chemistry) for the project “Manipulating Proteoforms with Chemical Tools”.
  • Marek Filakovský, Ph.D. (Department of Mathematics and Statistics) for the project “Topological Methods in Discrete Mathematics”.

Both projects will start in 2026.

Please inform the Project Support Office of your intention to submit a proposal for any project (even as a partner) as soon as possible. Follow the internal deadlines for each call.

GA CR LA (GA CR as a partner organisation)

  • Ongoing calls for Bilateral grant projects with the following partner agencies: FWF (Austria), DFG (Germany). More information available HERE. Faculty deadline: two weeks before submission (for budget control).

  • Program SIGMA DC 4 - The programme focuses on supporting international cooperation in the field of applied research through joint projects of Czech entities supported by TA CR and foreign partners supported by foreign organisations.

  • 2. VS Prostředí pro život 2 (2. Call Environment for life 2) - the call is open only for the sub-programme 1 (PP1): Innovation and operational research in the public interest with clearly defined priority research objectives (Annex 1 of Tender documentation). AZV - European Partnerships

  • EP PerMed (Personalised Medicine): Currently open for participation in the Widening process aimed at supporting countries with lower participation in ERA initiatives. Czech applicants will have their national budget covered by AZV. More information available HERE. Deadline: 17.6.2025
  • EP PerMed – Networking Call: Supports networking activities such as workshops or hybrid/in-person meetings up to €30,000. (Only one event per application can be funded.) Main PI and one partner must be involved in an ongoing or past EP PerMed call; the third partner can be part of any (inter)national personalised medicine project. More information available HERE.   • MSCA Staff Exchanges 2025: MSCA Staff Exchanges involve organisations from the academic and non-academic sectors (including SMEs) from across the globe. Support is provided for international, inter-sectoral and interdisciplinary mobility of R&I staff leading to knowledge transfer between participating organisations. More details available HERE.   • Advanced Collaboration Grants (EMBO): funds the visits of 1 week to 6 months in the lab of collaborator in EMBO participating country to work on joint collaborative project with biological significance. More details are available HERE. Deadline: anytime.
  • ERC Proof of Concept Grants: The ERC Proof of Concept Grants aim at facilitating exploration of the commercial and social innovation potential of ERC funded research and are therefore available only to Principal Investigators whose proposals draw substantially on their ERC funded research. More details available HERE. Deadline 17.9.2025.
  • New EIC Work Programme 2025 published for EIC Pathfinder, Accelerator and Transition schemes, the former being the most promising for multi-disciplinary research teams to undertake visionary research with the potential to lead to technology breakthroughs (grants up to €4 million).   • EIC Transition: funds innovation activities that go beyond the experimental proof of principle in laboratory. It supports both the maturation and validation of your novel technology from the lab to the relevant application environments (by making use of prototyping, formulation, models, user testing or other validation tests) as well as explorations and development of a sustainable business case and business model towards commercialisation.   • Circular-by-design fibre-based packaging with improved properties. DDL 18.9.2025, additional information HERE.
  • Improved lifetime and cost of high-temperature electrolysers by introducing innovative materials and components in stacks and BoP. DDL 23.4.2025, additional information HERE.
