I. New Successful Projects
prof. RNDr. Jakub Hofman, Ph.D. (RECETOX, Dept. of Soil Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology) will become part of consortium “SOILPROM” - Modelling pollutant transport across the soil-water-atmosphere conituum, and impacts on ecosystem services. The project will improve the modelling of soil pollution processes for metals, PFAS, nutrients, microplastics, and pesticides through soil, air, water, and plants compartments, to reach reduced levels of pollution and healthier soils across Europe.
doc. RNDr. Jakub Neradil, Ph.D. (Dept. of Experimental Biology) will be become part of new project: Novel molecular targets and prognostic markers in neuroblastoma: Identification guided by mapping neural crest cell differentiation programs.

- ERA Chairs (Horizon Europe): provides 1,5-2,5 mil. - Human Frontier Science Program (HFSP): supports innovative basic research into fundamental biological problems with emphasis placed on novel and interdisciplinary approaches that involve scientific exchanges across national and disciplinary boundaries. - FEBS Excellence Awards (FEBS): funding of 100,000 EUR for early-career group leaders for research equipment and consumables over a 3-year period. More information is available HERE. Application period is 1.4.-1.7.2024.
- JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship for Research in Japan (JSPS, AV ČR): funds travel and maintenance costs related to mobility of young postdocs (who hold PhD no longer than 6 years) for 1-2 years to conduct collaborative research in Japan. More information available HERE. Deadline: 14.4.2024.
- EMBO Installation grant (EMBO): annual grant of 50,000 EUR for 3-5 years for a new groupleaders (must apply or hold this position no longer than 2 years). More details are HERE. Deadline: 15.4.2024.
- Worldwide Cancer Research: supports projects that could help prevent, diagnose or treat cancer with the budget up to £275,000 for 1-3 years. More details are HERE. Deadline: 2.4.2024.
