I. New Successful Projects
Prof. Jaromír Leichmann (Dept. of Geological Sciences) succeeded in the Climate and Environment call within the INTERREG Austria-Czech Republic 2021-2027 cooperation programme with the grant "Groundwater". The grant worth almost 900 000 EUR will connect three Czech and Austrian research institutions in the area of sustainable groundwater management options in a common border area.
Prof. Jaromír Leichmann (Dept of Geological Sciences) succeeded in the Climate call of the INTERREG Slovak Republic-Czech Republic 2021-2027 programme with a "Groundwater" grant worth more than 1 000 000 EUR. The grant will develop a model of a comprehensive climatic-hydrological-hydrometeorological system in the common border area, which will allow early warning of the onset of drought and enable state and municipal authorities to prepare appropriate measures to mitigate its negative impacts.
prof. Luděk Bláha (RECETOX) succeeded in the call of the TACR Environment for Life Programme with the project “Innovative technology of municipal wastewater quaternary treatment” and grant worth more than 9 000 000 CZK for the whole consortium. The project develops and implement an innovative technology for the elimination of residual micropollutants and compare it with conventional technologies.
Mgr. Petr Špaček, Ph.D. (Institute of Physics of the Earth) will be become part of new project: TAČR THÉTA 2 called Mapping of seismic amplification in the Czech Republic.
Assoc. Prof. Lumír Krejčí (National Centre for Biomolecular Research) gained funding of almost 400 000 EUR in the Pathway for Synergie call with his project “Enhancing Synergism on Telomere Function in Health and Disease (TRIAD)”. The TRIAD should enhance collaboration among three ERDF-funded labs in Greece, Portugal, and the Czech Rep. studying the functional role of telomeres in health with aim to combat age-related diseases and improving overall human health.

- FEBS Excellence Awards (FEBS): funding of 100,000 EUR for early-career group leaders for research equipment and consumables over a 3-year period. More information is available HERE. Application period is 1.4.-1.7.2024.
- ERC Advanced (Horizon Europe): Five years long funding of up to 2,5 mil. EUR to pursue a ground-breaking, ambitious project led by excellent scientists with track-record of significant research achievements in the last 10 years. More information available HERE. Indicative deadline: 29.8.2024.
- Advanced Collaboration Grants (EMBO): funds the visits of 1 week to 6 months in the lab of collaborator in EMBO participating country to work on joint collaborative project with biological significance. More details are available HERE. Deadline: anytime.

- MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships (2024) - the goal of MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships is to enhance the creative and innovative potential of researchers holding a PhD and who wish to acquire new skills through advanced training, international, inter-sectoral and interdisciplinary mobility. III. Other News
GA CR
- The evaluation protocols for interim and final reports for Standard projects, International projects, and Lead agency projects have been published in GRIS. The evaluations can be found in the project details under the "Progress Reports, Final Reports" tab on the 2023 Progress/Final Report line under the "Protocol (Public)" column.
MEYS
