I. New Successful Projects

Assoc. Prof. Tomáš Řezník (Dept. Of Geography) became part of a new collaborative HORIZON EUROPE project BENCHMARK (Building a European Network for the Characterisation and Harmonisation of Monitoring Approaches for Research and Knowledge on Soils) coordinated by Wageningen University.

Dr. Peter Fabian (Dept. of Exp. Biology) has been awarded a GAČR JUNIOR STAR grant for excellent early career scientists within 8 years of obtaining a Ph.D. Thanks to the five-year project, he will have the opportunity to become scientifically independent.

II. Upcoming calls

MUNI Award in Science and Humanities: "MASH" is intended for applicants who were not employed by MU in their main employment for the period of 5 years preceding the deadline of the call. The applicant may hold an ERC grant or is a leading researcher in the R4 career stage. Faculty deadline 5. 12. 2022. More information available HERE.

MUNI Award in Science and Humanities JUNIOR: The main aim of MASH JUNIOR is to create conditions for timely achievement of research autonomy of highly promising researchers shortly after Ph.D. acceleration of career advancement of talented scholars. MUNI HORIZONS: The support is intended for costs associated with the preparation of extremely prestigious and important projects of international donors (e.g. European Commission programmes). Continuous call. More information available HERE.

LA grants - GA ČR: It is still possible to submit project proposals in cooperation with the German agency DFG/interim call, the Austrian agency FWF/interim call, the American NSF/interim call and the Polish agency NCN/deadline 15 December 2022 (deadline for the Czech Republic 22 December 2022). Proposals submitted to the call with the Polish NCN will count towards the limit of proposals submitted to calls with an expected start date of 2024!

TAČR, SIGMA: Call is open. Programme is aimed at promoting the social sciences, humanities and arts (SHUV) in applied research and innovation activities and the application of the outputs of these activities in the form of new or improved products, procedures, processes or services. CHIST-ERA Call 2022 supports project in the field of ICT research. Deadline 2.2.2023. More information available HERE.

ERC Consolidator: supports excellent Principal Investigators (8-12 years since PhD defence) to consolidate their teams and perform groundbreaking highly risky research. You can apply for up to 2 mil. EUR for 5 years. Deadline 2.2.2023. More information available HERE.

ERC Advanced: supports leading principal investigators who want long-term funding to pursue a ground-breaking, high-risk project (> 12 years since PhD defence). You can apply for up to 2,5 mil. EUR for 5 years. Deadline 23.5.2023. More information available HERE.

MSCA Staff Exchanges: supports collaborative research projects implemented on the basis of research staff mobility between involved organizations. It funds only international, inter-sectoral and interdisciplinary mobility. Deadline 8.3.2023. More information HERE.

MISTI (MIT International Science and Technology Initiatives) - seed fund supporting bilateral collaboration between Czech team and team from MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) with deadline on 13.12.2022. More details available HERE.

EMBO Postdoctoral fellowship – two years support for excellent postdoctoral researchers in Life Sciences. Cut-off for evaluation proposals: 2.2.2023. More details available HERE.

Visegrad grant – supports 18 months long projects for networking and strenghtening collaboration of organizations from three V4 countries. Deadline 1.2.2023. More details available HERE.

COST Actions (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) - finances international interdisciplinary research networks called COST Actions. Call for new COST Action open until 25.10.2023. HFSP (Human Frontier Science Program) - two types of three years long grants: (1) individual Early Career research grant and (2) collaborative interdisciplinary Program research grant. Deadline for Letter of Intent 24.3.2023. More details available HERE.

III. Other News

INTERREG VI-A Rakousko - Česko 2021 - 2027 - Cooperation Programme INTERREG Austria - Czechia 2021-2027. The submission of the projects is scheduled for early 2023. More details on the programme documents, pleace click HERE.

INTERREG V-A SK-CZ - INTERREG V-A - Slovak Republic - Czech Republic. The EC has approved the programme for the new programming period 2021 - 2027. The new programme will fund projects that will improve the quality of life in the Slovak-Czech border region. The first calls will be launched early next year. Contact for applicants HERE.

INTERREG EUROPE 2021 - 2027 - Projects should aim to improve the implementation of regional policies and interregional institutional cooperation. Announcement of the second call for project applications is scheduled for 15 March 2023. More detailed information can be found HERE.
