I. Successful Projects

Prof. RNDr. Milan Chytrý, Ph.D. (Department of Botany and Zoology), project Oscars, Open Call for Open Science Projects and Services, Implementing FAIR principles in European Vegetation Archive data, role: coordinator

Two new GA ČR LA projects with Swiss National Foundation (SNSF) will be supported at the Faculty of Science:

  • prof. RNDr. Zbyněk Prokop, Ph.D. (RECETOX) will solve a project entitled A Microfluidic Platform for Investigating the Mechanism of Action of Alzheimer's Drug Candidates
  • prof. RNDr. Daniel Růžek, Ph.D. (Dept. of Experimental Biology) will solve a project entitled Human antibodies to flavivirus threats

GAMU

  • Career Restart: This grant scheme supports integration of researchers after a career break, for instance due to parental leave, long term illness or long term care of close person into Masaryk University research teams. More information available HERE. Deadline: 18.10.2024 (Faculty deadline: 8.10.2024).
  • MASH: The main aim of the grant is to bring excellent and successful external researchers to MU and to offer them such conditions that they are motivated to stay, work for MU and to attain exceptionally high-quality research results on the long-term basis. The call is open in 2 categories: MASH; MASH StG/CoG. More information available HERE. Deadline: 9.12.2024 (Faculty deadline: 29.11.2024).
  • HORIZONS: International Grants Arangements. The support is intended for costs associated with the preparation of extremely prestigious and important projects of international donors (e.g. European Commission programmes). MIT-Czech Republic IOCB Tech Foundation Seed Fund – call for 2024

  • The program that was created in 2021 is a collaboration between MIT, the IOCB of the CAS, and its subsidiary IOCB Tech. It is now funded by the IOCB Tech Foundation, which contributes $100,000 per year to the program. The fund supports 3 to 5 new collaborations each year between scientists from CAS research institutes and universities in the Czech Republic and MIT partners, up to $25,000, with funding available to cover travel and accommodation costs associated with working meetings and research internships. Successful applicants will be decided by April of the following year and the first trips will be available in June 2025. The fund is open to all disciplines.   • MSCA Doctoral Networks: aim to train creative, entrepreneurial, innovative and resilient doctoral candidates, able to face current and future challenges and to convert knowledge and ideas into products and services for economic and social benefit.   • ERC Consolidator Grants (Horizon Europe): The ERC Consolidator Grants are designed to support excellent Principal Investigators in any field of study at the career stage at which they may still be consolidating their own independent research team or programme. More information available HERE. Deadline: 14.1.2025.
  • ERC Starting (Horizon Europe): The ERC Starting Grants are designed to support excellent Principal Investigators at the career stage at which they are starting their own independent research team or programme. Principal Investigators must demonstrate the ground-breaking nature, ambition and feasibility of their research proposal. More information available HERE. Deadline: 15.10.2024.
  • ERC Synergy (Horizon Europe): The aim is to provide support for a small group of two to four Principal Investigators to jointly address ambitious research problems that could not be addressed by the individual Principal Investigators and their teams working alone. More information available HERE. Deadline: 6.11.2024.
  • Advanced Collaboration Grants (EMBO): funds the visits of 1 week to 6 months in the lab of collaborator in EMBO participating country to work on joint collaborative project with biological significance. More details are available HERE. Deadline: anytime.
  • COST - funds interdisciplinary research networks, brings together researchers, innovators and other professionals including industry specialists, who are based in Europe and beyond, to collaborate on research topics for a period of 4 years. CASCADE FUNDING

  • AI REDGIO 5.0: Open call for innovative experiments. DDL 16.12.2024
    The objective for the second open call of AI REDGIO 5.0 project is to select up to 10 SME-driven experiments focused on the implementation of AI at the Edge and Industry 5.0 systems with the aim of improving existing solutions, products or processes in the manufacturing area. Additionally, the open call will contribute to extend the domains of AI REDGIO 5.0 and benefit directly manufacturing SMEs and small mid-caps. The experiments are expected to cover 2 topics:
    • TOPIC 1: AI-at-the-Edge – convergence between Data and AI continuum, Cloud, Edge, IoT technologies
    • TOPIC 2: Industry 5.0 Human Centric and Sustainable-Circular Manufacturing, inspired by WISE principles
