Dean's Awards 2026 for Outstanding Academic and Scientific Achievements, and Inspiring Pedagogical Work
The Dean of the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University, Luděk Bláha, ceremoniously presented the Dean's Awards for the 2025/2026 academic year to 24 awardees who, through their results and approach, significantly contribute to the faculty’s development. At the same time, one special award was also presented in memoriam to the outstanding educator Prof. Jana Šmardová. She motivated and inspired her students and, in an original way, reflected her own scientific experimental work in cancer research, as well as her clinical practice experience, in her pedagogical work.
The awarded students and graduates represent a wide range of scientific disciplines. They are united not only by excellent grades but also by active involvement in research, publication, participation in international projects, and a willingness to engage with the academic community. In addition, the faculty also honored teachers who, with their professional and human approach, have long inspired students. They have helped create an environment that supports curiosity, critical thinking, and the desire to push the boundaries of knowledge.
“I heartily congratulate all the awardees. Our best students demonstrate that creativity goes hand in hand with hard work and responsibility. Great teachers cross their paths with unwavering patience and in the best possible way. The excellent results that we are honoring today are proof of what a strong faculty that does not shy away from challenges can do. I hope that this award will be a motivation and the beginning of the path to further heights.”
Prof. Luděk Bláha, the Dean of the Faculty of Science
