Appointment decrees were presented to 91 new professors and associate professors by the President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, on 1 June in the Great Hall of the Karolinum.
The ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Robert Plaga. The appointments were made on the basis of proposals from the scientific and artistic councils of universities.
Based on a proposal by the Scientific Board of Masaryk University, 13 professors who are also actively affiliated with MU were appointed. One professorship was granted based on a proposal from the Scientific Board of Charles University. The highest academic rank of professor was conferred on individuals who met all the required professional and qualification criteria. The appointment represents recognition of their long-term scholarly work, their significant contribution to the development of their respective fields, and their active role in the university environment.
The newly appointed professors thus join the ranks of leading figures in academia who contribute to the development of education, science, and research in the Czech Republic.
