Conditions for applicants with foreign secondary education

An applicant who has obtained foreign secondary education by completing studies in a secondary school education programme at a foreign secondary school, international secondary school, European school operating under the Convention defining the Statute of the European Schools or a school where the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic has permitted compulsory school education under the Schools Act proves the fulfilment of the condition set out in Art. 2 (1) as follows:

      1. by a decision on recognition in the Czech Republic of the validity of a foreign certificate together with a validation certificate (nostrifikační doložka) on recognition of the validity in the Czech Republic of the foreign education certificate, or a certificate of recognition in the Czech Republic of the equivalence of the foreign education certificate issued by a regional authority, or by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, in the form of authenticated copies;
      2. by a certificate of European Baccalaureate in the form of an authenticated copy with an official translation into the Czech or English language (translations are not required for certificates issued in the Slovak or English language);
      3. by a foreign certificate of foreign secondary education with a school-leaving examination, if it is automatically equivalent in the Czech Republic based on its international obligations without any further official procedure, in the form of an authenticated copy with official translation into the Czech or English language (translations are not required for documents issued in the Slovak or English language) (hereinafter a “foreign certificate of foreign secondary education which is subject to an equivalency agreement concluded by the Czech Republic”);
      4. by a foreign certificate of foreign higher education which is equivalent in the Czech Republic based on its international obligations without any further official procedure, in the form of an authenticated copy with an official translation into the Czech or English language (translations are not required for documents issued in the Slovak or English language) (hereinafter the “foreign certificate of foreign higher education which is subject to an equivalency agreement concluded by the Czech Republic”);

To this end, the Faculty may further request presentation of the following:

  1. additional information on the contents and scope of the foreign secondary study, in the form of the original counterpart or an authenticated copy with an official translation into the Czech or English language (translations are not required for documents issued in the Slovak or English language);
  2. a certificate issued by the relevant foreign secondary school or some other competent foreign authority to the effect that the graduate is authorised to apply in the given foreign country for admission into a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programme that does not follow up on a Bachelor’s degree programme, in the form of the original counterpart or authenticated copy with an official translation into the Czech or English language (translations are not required for documents issued in the Slovak or English language);
  3. a certificate of the competent foreign authority that the relevant foreign secondary school is authorised to organise secondary education in the given foreign country, in the form of the original counterpart or an authenticated copy with an official translation into the Czech or English language (translations are not required for documents issued in the Slovak or English language).

 The deadline for presenting these documents is set for the end of June.
