Important dates for the 2021/2022 admission procedure

  • from 1 January 2021 to 30 April 2021

    File an application

    When filing an electronic application (no other form of application is possible), you will also check the conditions for admission to the programme you chose.

    A separate e-application must be filed for each programme. You can choose no more than three specialisations within a single programme. The fee for one application is CZK 650. You can file any number of applications you wish, but you must pay for each of them separately. Check in the e-application whether it is complete – paid for and confirmed.

    Applicants for joint pedagogical study programmes have to present a confirmation of Bachelor's study focusing on education or a confirmation that they will complete during their Bachelor's study pedagogical-psychological courses within the scope of a Bachelor’s pedagogical degree programme.

    Applicants for the programme of Bioanalytical laboratory diagnostics in healthcare – Medical genetics and molecular diagnostics have to present a confirmation from a higher education institution on attending a Bachelor’s programme which has obtained an affirmative opinion in terms of the authorisation to perform a medical profession.

    Written confirmation has to be presented by applicants outside of the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University, who shall send it to the Faculty of Science’s Office for Studies together with their e-application, but not later than by 30 April 2021. If not presented by this date, the application for study in the above-specified programmes will not be included in the admission procedure.


  • April 2021

    Application for waiver of the entrance examination

    Written applications for waiver of the entrance examination can be filed not later than by 30 April 2021 (the date of dispatch is decisive). By that date, you also have to state this fact in your e-application. This applies only to applicants who apply to a programme that does not directly follow after a Bachelor’s field of study.     Applicants from the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University applying into a follow-up Master’s programme which directly follows after the previous Bachelor’s degree need not file an application for waiver of the entrance examination. For more information, see here.

    Foreign nationals (except for Slovaks) applying for studies in the Bachelor’s or Master’s degree programmes in the Czech language, whose entrance examination has been waived, are obliged to prove their knowledge of the Czech language by passing an examination in Czech language at the B1 level according to the ALTE Framework not later than when enrolling in study.

  • June 2021

    Wait for an invitation

    The invitation will be published in the e-application. You will receive a notification electronically.

    The Dean’s statement on waiver of the entrance examination will be published in your e-application by 22 May 2021. Applicants whose application is not granted by the Dean have to appear for the entrance examination according to the invitation they received.

  • June 2021

    Appear for the examination

    The entrance examination for follow-up Master’s study can entail various requirements. For details, see each of the offered programmes. The dates of the entrance examinations can be found here.

  • July 2021

    Check the result

    You can find the decision on admission or non-admission in your e-application. (The date will be specified.)

  • July and September 2021

    Enrol in studies

    Once you have a decision on admission, you will also receive an invitation to enrol. The invitation will be published in the e-application. You will receive a notification electronically. You cannot choose the regular date of enrolment; you have to appear on the date specified in the invitation. Once you enrol, you become a student of the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University. If you cannot appear for enrolment on the regular date, you need to apply for a substitute date by an e-mail sent to the Office for Studies.
