Newsletter for PhD students and Postdocs

Dear PhD students and Postdocs,

the autumn semester is already in full swing, and you're probably very busy with research, meetings and lectures. Despite this, please take a few minutes to read this newsletter, customized just for you, Early-Stage Researchers - PhD students and Postdocs.

This ensures, that only information that you will really use and can help you in your studies or further education is included in the newsletter. We wish you pleasant reading and beautiful autumn days!

The MUNI Mendel Doctorandus Programme has been Officially Launched!

Although the launch of the new program for active PhD students took place during the PhD Day on September 14, 2022, we now had the opportunity to meet the newly enrolled students of the MMD programme face to face for the first time. The meeting took place on October 25, 2022, in the outdoor area of the Bohunice University Campus and was held in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. Accepted students from the MMD programme were personally welcomed by the Vice Dean for Doctoral Studies of the Faculty of Science, prof. Luděk Bláha and other representatives of the University. The improvement of PhD education was also supported personally by prof. Tomáš Kašparovský, dean of the Faculty of Science. During the afternoon “kick-off Aperó”, we could celebrate together the successful start of the MMD programme.

A total of 45 students from all cooperating faculties and CEITEC Institute applied for the programme, and 43 students were accepted.

Most students applied for the programme from the Faculty of Science, which we are delighted about. We see this as a clear indicator that the students of the Faculty of Science are very active and interested in their studies beyond the regular standards.

Further applicants to the MUNI Mendel Doctorandus programme will have the opportunity to apply during January 2023.
