Everything You Wanted to know about the Czech Republic...

 

The late Variscan rare-metal granitoids of western Bohemia are typical with high- to very-high contents of fluorine and lithium, expressed in appearance of zinnwaldite, topaz and amblygonite as rock-forming minerals.

We offer you possibility to visit the most interesting localities in short excursion following the official post-LERM excursion.

Preliminary program :

- start of the excursion: Praha, 25. June afternoon, immediately after the LERM excursion

- visited localities:

Day 1. - Podlesí - well outcropped stock of highly fractionated peraluminous F,P,Li- rich granite with evolution of marginal pegmatite, early explosive breccia, comagmatic dykes with magmatic layering, unidirectional solidification textures and late intra-dyke brecciation. Main topics: minerals and textures of F-rich magma, dynamic evolution of F-rich magma in subvolcanic conditions.

Day 2. - Krásno - stock of tin-bearing F, Li-rich granite with explosive breccia, greisenisation and Sn-W mineralization. Topics: post-magmatic F-rich alteration, ore minerals.

or Vernéřov near Aš - amblygonite pegmatite with cassiterite, kosterite and assemblage of late phosphates. (locality Krásno or Verneřov will be chosen according to interest of participants.)

- end of the excursion: Praha international airport, 27. June, 10.00 a.m.

- preliminary price: 80 EUR (incl. transport, 2x accommodation, full board), it depends of number of participants, should be paid at the registration.
