I. Successful Projects

doc. Mgr. Ondřej Caha, Ph.D. (Department of Condensed Matter Physics) begins the implementation of the OP TAK project called” Advanced laser processing for semiconductor wafers manufacturing“

Starting in January 2026, the following GAMU projects will be launched:

  • Mgr. Tomáš Fiala, Ph.D. (Department of Chemistry) – GAMU MASH StG/CoG project “Manipulating Proteoforms with Chemical Tools.”
  • Mgr. Marek Filakovský, Ph.D. (Department of Mathematics and Statistics) – GAMU MASH StG/CoG project “Topological Methods in Discrete Mathematics.”
  • Mgr. Jan Grebík, Ph.D. (Department of Mathematics and Statistics) – GAMU MASH Junior project “Local Problems in Measure Theory; Connections, and Complexity.”

II. Upcoming calls

‼️ Please inform the Project Support Office of your intention to submit a proposal for any project (even as a partner) as soon as possible. Follow the internal deadlines for each call and the Methodology for the planning of personnel costs.

GA CR LA (GA CR as a partner organisation)

  • Ongoing calls for Bilateral grant projects with the following partner agencies: FWF (Austria), DFG (Germany). More information available HERE. Faculty deadline: two weeks before submission (for budget control).
  • Bilateral grant projects with Polish agency National Science Centre (NCN). More information available HERE. Deadline: 22.12.2025 (in Poland 15.12.2025). Faculty deadline: 1.12.2025.

GAMU

  • MASH: The main aim of the grant is to bring excellent and successful external researchers to MU and to offer them such conditions that they are motivated to stay, work for MU and to attain exceptionally high-quality research results on the long-term basis. The call is open in 2 categories: MASH; MASH StG/CoG. More information available HERE.  Deadline: 5.12.2025 (Faculty deadline: 26.11.2025).
  • HORIZONS: International Grants Arrangements. The support is intended for costs associated with the preparation of extremely prestigious and important projects of international donors (e.g. European Commission programmes).   • Tentative ERC deadlines for 2026
    • ERC Consolidator: call opens 25.9.2025, deadline: 13.1.2026
  • MSCA Choose Europe for Science 2025: initiative promotes Europe as an attractive destination for global research talent. It highlights MSCA funding opportunities, career support, and a strong environment for international collaboration. More details available HERE. Opening of the Call 1.10.2025, DDL 3.12.2025
  • MSCA Doctoral Networks 2025: funding initiative supporting creation of internationally connected doctoral training networks across Europe (and beyond), promoting excellence and intersectoral collaboration by engaging academic and non‑academic partners like industry, museums, libraries, or public agencies.   • Advanced Collaboration Grants (EMBO): funds the visits of 1 week to 6 months in the lab of collaborator in EMBO participating country to work on joint collaborative project with biological significance. More details are available HERE. Deadline: anytime.
  • New EIC Work Programme 2025 published for EIC Pathfinder, Accelerator and Transition schemes, the former being the most promising for multi-disciplinary research teams to undertake visionary research with the potential to lead to technology breakthroughs (grants up to €4 million).   • EIC Pre-Accelerator Widening: This call will increase the innovation potential of deep-tech startups in the widening countries and enable them to better attract private investments and scale up. It will further strengthen the innovation dimension of the widening component and increase the overall competitiveness of these countries. Additional information HERE. DDL 18.11.2025.
  • European Excellence Initiative (EEI): According to the recent report on the future of European competitiveness by Mario Draghi (published in September 2024), ‘the EU boasts an excellent university system on average, but its presence among the top world-leading research universities is limited’. The EU higher education system is quite inclusive and provides a high level of education and training to a significant portion of its young people. However, there are very large differences among European universities, and some perform very well in many respects. This action addresses this challenge by dedicated measures to reduce these disparities by raising the overall level of excellence of research undertaken in higher education entities. DDL 20.11.2025.   • Fostering and maintaining the social fabric for the green transition in neighbourhoods. This topic aims to study the interplay between cultural participation, social connections and civic engagement. The resulting insights can be used to foster and maintain the social fabric of neighbourhoods and support their green transition while addressing other challenges such as the decline in social connections.   • Studies on rail industry 5.0 (HORIZON-JU-ER-2025-EXPLR-01). The study shall provide recommendations for the implementation of Industry 5.0 vision that will lead to a significant improvement of safety, reliability, and efficiency in rail operations. DDL 11.2.2026. More info HERE.
  • Space Data Economy (HORIZON-EUSPA-2026-SPACE-02-51). This topic aims at supporting activities that are enabling or contributing to overcoming sectorial demand fragmentation and support scale up of the space data use, increasing the wider uptake and mass adoption of the EU space data in selected priority areas that are strategic for Europe.
