Visitor Rules
The Botanical Garden is open from April 1 to September 30, from 9 AM to 5 PM. From October 1 to March 31, it is open from 9 AM to 3 PM. Opening hours are extended during exhibitions.
Guided excursions are available only on weekdays and must be ordered in advance. Note that guided tours are not provided during exhibitions.
- Entrance to the garden is free; however, a fee is charged for visits to the greenhouses (see the price list).
- Members of the Association of Friends of the Botanical Garden, students of the Faculty of Science MU, and children under 6 years of age have free access to the greenhouses.
- Children up to 14 years are permitted to enter the garden only if accompanied by an adult responsible for their behavior. The Botanical Garden does not assume responsibility for any damages caused by children or injuries due to inadequate supervision. Children are not allowed to play, run, or turn on water taps in the garden.
- Individuals who are drunk or behaving inappropriately are prohibited from entering the garden. Additionally, bicycles, dogs (except for assistance dogs), and roller skates are not permitted. Visitors should be mindful of other guests.
- Visitors are not allowed to walk off paths or paved areas, climb rock gardens or stone sculptures, enter flower beds, lawns, or pools, open or close water taps, throw stones, move garden furniture, or step on ice during winter. Pollution of the garden in any form is forbidden, and waste should be disposed of in provided containers, with sorted waste containers located at the gate of the Faculty of Science campus.
- If public restrooms are closed, the key is available upon request from the greenhouse service. There is no barrier-free restroom in the garden, but a barrier-free restroom is available in the Faculty of Science buildings on weekdays.
- Smoking and littering (including cigarette butts) are not allowed.
- Damaging plants or collecting seeds and fruits is prohibited. Some cultivated plants may be poisonous or cause allergic reactions when touched.
- Gardeners cannot sell or donate plants, seedlings, or any plant parts.
- Photography and video recording are allowed for personal use only. Public presentation of materials (at exhibitions, on the Internet, in publications) requires prior consent from the Botanical Garden management and must reference the Botanical Garden by its correct name. Commercial use of such materials may incur a fee.
- Visitors who do not respect these rules can be asked to leave the garden, and the Botanical Garden office, porter, or municipal police may be contacted if necessary.
- Except for disabled persons, vehicles are not allowed to enter or park in the Botanical Garden. The area is wheelchair accessible, and employees are available to assist at any time.
- Wedding ceremonies are not permitted in the Botanical Garden. Wedding guests may take pictures during regular opening hours, without prior agreement, as long as they abide by the operational rules. Limited numbers of guests (4-5) may take pictures in the greenhouses for a modest fee.
