The European Research Council (ERC), Europe’s leading funding body for cutting-edge research and development, today announced the results of its prestigious ERC Grants competition. Three Czech projects, two of them from the MU, were among the four hundred awarded submissions by young researchers from all over Europe.
Masaryk University has supported entrepreneurial students for the third time, with up to CZK 600,000 allocated for their development this year. The award ceremony took place on Friday, 9 June, in the creative hub KUMST.
AZ 800, a new university telescope, will be used mainly for teaching students of astrophysics and for astronomical observations. It is a joint project of the town of Ždánice and the Department of Theoretical Physics and Astrophysics of the MU Faculty of Science.
The refectory of the Old Brno Abbey at Mendlovo náměstí hosted a ceremony at which twenty-three associate professors from seven faculties received their appointment decrees.
