Exoplanets - the key to the biggest mysteries of humanity

Exoplanets - planetary worlds that, with a few exceptions, are completely unreachable with current technology. We know about their existence only indirectly thanks to observed deviations in precise astrophysical measurements. However, observing exoplanets can provide answers to basic questions that people have been asking since time immemorial:

How did life originate on Earth? Are there aliens? Where is the development of our world?

The latest space telescopes, targeted laboratory experiments and sophisticated mathematical models are likely to provide the answers. Czech scientists are world leaders in this field. They make parts for space telescopes, spectrographs for the European Southern Observatory, experiment with the most powerful lasers in the world - all this to uncover the secrets of distant worlds.
