Fragile Freedom: A Commemoration of the Velvet Revolution at MU

This year's anniversary of the Velvet Revolution will be commemorated by Masaryk University on 16 November from 4 pm at the University Cinema Scala, where a cultural programme entitled Fragile Freedom will be held, dedicated not only to the events of 1989, but also to current events in Europe and the world.

Programme:

16.00 - 16.30 Opening ceremony with speech given by MU Rector Martin Bareš and awarding of the MU Silver Medal to Petruška Šustrová
16.30 - 18.10 Projection of the film Klondike, set in the early days of the Donbas war
18.10 - 18.30 Break
18.30 - 19.30 Debate: On the Borders of Russia (Guests: Petruška Šustrová, Petr Hlavaček, Zdenek Kříž, Michael Romancov, hosted by Jiří Hanuš.)
19.30 - 20.15 Break
20.15 Concert of the band Děti kapitána Morgana, consisting of Ivan Manolov, Eva Turnová, Tomáš Urbánek, Vladimír Třebický and Jaroslav Záděra, accompanied by photographs by Bohdan Holomíček, documenting the events of the November Days of 1989.
