On Monday, September 15, 2025, the grounds of the Faculty of Science at Masaryk University on Kotlářská Street were transformed into a place of gathering, music, and celebration – the traditional garden party took place, symbolically launching the new academic year. The event was a great success, bringing together more than 300 students, staff, and guests.
The opening speech was delivered by Hana Pokorná, Vice-Dean for External Relations, Communication, and Marketing, who welcomed everyone and wished them a successful start to the new semester. Martin Bareš, Rector of Masaryk University, and Tomáš Kašparovský, Dean of the Faculty, also addressed the attendees.
A key part of the program was the awarding of honorary status as partner schools of the Faculty of Science, Masaryk University, to thirteen secondary schools that have been actively cooperating with the faculty for many years. The awards were accepted by the principals or representatives of each school.
The ceremony was followed by a toast, an informal program, a musical performance by the Jánoch cimbalom band, and refreshments.
Guests also had the opportunity to visit the botanical garden or explore the gallery on the staircase of the dean’s office building.
Thanks to the beautiful weather and friendly atmosphere, the celebration provided a truly pleasant start to the new academic year.
