The project will deal with systematics of Eoparastaffella (Foraminifera). It is a crucial taxon for the distinction of the Toumaisian-Visean boundary which definition is now under discussion worldwide and a suitable stratotype profile is sought. The project will proceed in two directions. The first will include the summarization of all available data on Eoparastaffella mainly from the eastern Europe where all species have been described. In the second part Eoparastaffella will be studied together with conodonts in promising profiles at the Tournaisian-Visean boundary in Moravia (Czech Republic) and the relation of the occurrences of Eoparastaffella species to the standard conodont zonation will be fixed. Two image databases will be created, one including all figured specimens of Eoparastaffela in literature, second including all diagnostic sections of Eoparastaffella from profiles in Moravia.
