Climate of the Czech Republic (temperature, pressure, cloudiness, precipitation) for the period 1750-2004 is analysed based on synthesis of early instrumental and systematic instrumental data as well as visual daily weather records. Series ofPrague-Kleme ntinum, Brno and Dicín-Podmokly are newly elaborated and homogenised similar as early instrumental records from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries at Žitenice, Teplá, Jihlava, Opava and other places. Available visual daily weatherrecords from differ ent places in the Czech Republic are quantitatively investigated. Based on instrumental measurements and visual observations, synthetic series of daily and monthly values are created, further used for statistical analysis of thetemporal and spatial varia bility of the Czech Republic climate with regards to the occurrence of weather extremes and climatic anomalies and in relation to changes of circulation patterns in Europe.
