The objective of the proposal is the realization of a research stay for the aquisition of scientific data required for completing a scientific project. An additional aspect of the project is to strengthen the bilateral collaboration between two research groups based in Vienna and Brno. The Vienna-based group is one of the leading laboratories in the field of cytoskeletal linker proteins, and has provided first molecular insights into the roles of cytolinkers and their regulation of cytoskeletal networks. The laboratory of NMR analysis (MU, Brno) specializes in the study of disordered proteins with high frequency of degeneration of residual structural features and internal movement. The co-operative work of the two groups aims to solve the structure of the SH3 domain of plectin and to determine the amino acid sequences involved in the binding of this domain to MAP proteins.
