The aim of this study is investigate the interaction of metamict minerals with mineralized hydrothermal fluids. This study will by focused on: incorporation of ions from hydrothermal solutions in to metamict matter, structural changes during this interaction, ionic exchange and diffusion mechanisms, correlation between amount of nonformula elements and degree of radiation damage, determination of percolation points for studied minerals Interaction of metamict minerals and mineralized fluids will be performed at laboratory experiments. Metamict zircon, thorite, xenotime-(Y), fergusonite and nonmetamict ones will be treated in mineralized solutions at temperatures 200 to 350°C. This study can contribute to investigation of incorporation of mobile elements to metamict matter; the ionic exchange during this incorporation; metamict minerals as indicators of low temp. alteration during geological processes; assess the behavior of zircon and Nb-Ti oxide-like nuclear waste forms.
