Paracoccus denitrificans is N2-evolving bacterium producing polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB). Preliminary data indicate more complex regulatory connections between metabolic pathways of inorganic nitrogen and PHB than we previously thought. Studies require bioreactors, qRT-PCR, GC and chemical derivatization, possibly gene knock-outs. PHB analysis could be utilized for educational purposes. Internship in 2021 at Stockholm University, Sweden at prof. Pia Ädelroth’s research group is arranged.
