Nanoluciferase research at Masaryk University brought the high school student the Young Czech Mind Award

Tereza Šustrová won the prestigious Young Czech Mind award for talented youth in the category GENUS “Nature around us”. A student at Brno grammar school, Tereza, who has been studying the structural and biochemical analysis of nanoluciferase, carried out her research in Masaryk University’s laboratories as part of her secondary school vocational activity (SOČ). In June, her work won her the national SOČ competition under the category Molecular Biology.

The Faculty of Science revealed its secrets during the Night of Scientists

The hidden secrets in nature and mathematics attracted crowds of young and old visitors to both campuses of the MU Faculty of Science as part of the Night of Scientists. On Friday, October 6 2023, more than 5,000 children, parents and senior citizens took advantage of this popular annual event and filled both our campuses, at Kotlářská and at the Bohunice University Campus from 6 p.m. to midnight.
