Strategies to identify Emerging Metabolic Disruptors using liver 3D in vitro models

This project will focus on:
a) Studying effects of prominent contaminants, detected in high levels in the environment, human serum, or tissues and have been connected to metabolic disorders.
b) The use of advanced 3D in vitro liver models available at RECETOX (MUNI, CZ) and NANOTEC (Italy), which better resemble the physiology of human liver compared to 2D in vitro models.
c) Increasing our understanding of the mechanisms involved in the development of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)
