Prior to my maternity leave in 2017, I completed my Ph.D. research at RECETOX, Masaryk University, specializing in Human Exposure and Risk Assessment with Dr. Pavel Čupr’s supervision. During my Ph.D., I authored seven peer-reviewed research articles, demonstrating my potential as an independent researcher. While on maternity leave, I voluntarily collaborated with Norwegian researchers and made scientific contributions to two international projects funded by the Research Council of Norway, assessing human health risks associated with synthetic chemicals. Throughout the last year of my maternity leave, I worked at the National Centre of RECETOX where I provided environmental risk assessment evaluations of biocidal products and chemicals placed on the Czech and EU markets. Project Career Restart will allow me to contribute actively to the development and implementation of chemical management policies that safeguard the environment and society. I am interested in fostering collaboration between researchers and policymakers. My ability to facilitate dialogue and build bridges between these two communities harmonize perfectly with the future goals of the Centre. I plan to enhance my expertise in chemical governance by continuing my research in the field, attending relevant international conferences, publishing papers, actively participating in project activities, and collaborating with experts from reputed international institutes. Additionally, I aim to establish and extend my collaborations with experts from reputable institutes in Europe, including ETH Zurich and Swiss Federal Laboratories for Material Science and Technology (EMPA). My long-term vision also includes teaching and mentoring the next generation of researchers and policymakers, participating in large European projects and consortiums, and actively supporting and guiding Czech and European policymakers on various aspects of chemical governance.
