Announcement of by-elections to the Student chamber of SCI MUNI Academic senate

Dear students of the Faculty of Science of Masaryk University,

in accordance with the Election Rules of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Science of the MU (hereinafter referred to as the "Election Rules"), I hereby announce the by-elections in students' electoral district to the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Science of the MU (hereinafter referred to as the "Senate") for the residuum of electoral term from September 1st, 2023, to August 31st, 2026. The reason for the by-elections is vacancy (Dr. Tomáš Brom left the Senate) without any reserve candidate. I also announce this schedule of tasks and deadlines:

• 26 February 2025: publication of the election announcement in the E-voting application of the Information System of the Masaryk University E-votes (hereinafter referred to as the "Application") and on the website of the Faculty of Science of the MU.
• no later than 3 March 2025 (inclusive): generation of non-public name list of all members of students' electoral district through the Application.
• from 3 March 2025 to 23 March 2025 (inclusive): acceptance of candidacies by the Election and Mandate Committee of the Senate (according to Article 9 of the Election Rules)
• no later than 25 March 2025, but no earlier than 24 March 2025: publication of election programs and declarations of candidates in the Application. Establishment of a discussion forum with candidates within IS MU.
• from 2 April 2025 to 13 April 2025 (inclusive): voting (according to Article 11 of the Electoral Rules) via the Application.

Candidacies can be entered via the E-votes IS application only. Confirmation and acceptance of the candidacies is done by e-mail notification via the Application from the Election and Mandate Committee.

Elections are organized and managed in accordance with the electoral rules by the Election and Mandate Committee of the Senate. For communication with this committee, use only electronic mail sent through the Information System of Masaryk University to the e-mail address volebni.komise@sci.muni.cz (Article 1, paragraph 3 of the Election Rules).

I believe that you will use this opportunity to exercise your right to influence the future direction of our faculty, either by your own candidacy or by electing your representatives in the highest representative body of the faculty's academic self-government.
