Vice-rector's award for excellent results in doctoral studies

The aim of this award, which is part of the so-called Strengthening of the appreciation of excellent study results of doctoral students (measure 3C), is to increase the number of doctoral students who complete their studies in the standard study period, possibly extended by one year, with excellent results processed in their dissertation. The award should motivate students and their supervisors to successfully complete their studies in the shortest possible time and to prepare and process excellent research and dissertations.

The financial reward for students who meet the conditions, and their tutors is CZK 25,000. The total number of nominations from the Faculty of Science that can be awarded is 12.

The conditions for submitting a nomination are:

  1. The nominated students successfully defended their dissertations in the academic year 2020/2021 (in the period from 1 September 2020 to 31 August 2021),
  2. they completed their studies in the standard period of study (max. increased by one year),
  3. their works are based on excellent scientific results – mainly the first author's publications in the best journals (typically Q1 according to WoS), or another field-specific excellent result.
